I'm Greg, and I'm passionate about supporting those who serve our communities
Meet Greg Baruso
Greg Baruso, a Central Seattle resident for 25 years, was born and raised in the '60s. A dedicated firefighter with 36 years of service, he earned honors as Firefighter of the Year (1999) and Volunteer of the Year (2001). Greg's community involvement includes 12 years on the Federal Way Diversity Commission (6 as Chair), and he currently serves on the Governor-Appointed Citizens Committee on Pipeline Safety. He's also the President of the Citizens Committee for Federal Way Schools, a former Federal Way Council member, and now Deputy Fire Marshal for the WA State Patrol. His lifelong commitment to service and safety continues to make a lasting impact.
Planning for the Future
As a 36-year firefighter, Greg understands the importance of planning to meet the demands of our growing community. He will work with fellow commissioners, the Legislature, and stakeholders to recruit and invest towards a thriving South King Fire.
“I'm running for Fire Commissioner to bring much-needed change, active listening, transparency, collaboration, and service sustainability to South King Fire, ensuring our community receives the best possible services.”
Transparency and Accountability
South King Fire lacks the transparency and accountability that we expect from our government. Greg has a proven track record of fostering openness, trust, and collaboration. His priority will be protecting taxpayers and shining light on commission decisions.
Issues
Supporting First Responders
Greg is proud to have the support of our first responders. Under his leadership, the commission will focus on common sense policies that support our firefighters and build the infrastructure we need for quick response times and major disasters.
Greg is proud to have working families and elected officials endorse his campaign!
“I’m so grateful for the support of so many of my brothers and sisters endorse my campaign for fire commissioner from other local fire departments around the region.”
